"See. I told you they knew each other" quipped Tooth from the other side of the door. "It was all just a matter of getting them back together again. Huh! I feel like a bit of a Cupid myself!"

"Okay, so the sheila and rug rat had a thing for each other in their past life?" questioned Bunnymund.

"Da, Bunny. Is plain as nose on face. They knew each other when they were children," answered North.

"And now they are together again, as it should be. I just love a happy ending," finished Tooth.

Suddenly, an alarm sounded behind the trio of talkers and the single mute. They turned to see the many lights flickering on the great globe that showed the children who believed in the guardians. They were ever so slowly going out, one by one all over the world.

"No," said North. "It is only beginning."

Jack slept that night better than he had in years. Normally, he didn't like sleeping because it wasn't very fun. But on this night, he was so mentally exhausted from all he had learned that day, he practically fell asleep in the balcony. One of the best parts? Cupid was laying next to him in the queen sized bed they shared in North's workshop. She actually had fallen asleep on the balcony. She was telling Jack a story about when they were children, and she slowly began nodding off. Her eyes got slowly heavier and he body sort of slumped into itself. Finally, she basically collapsed onto Jack's lap. He smiled at the girl and a faint glimmer of a memory formed in the back of Jack's mind. He remembered that this happened a lot with Cupid when they were small. She would just slowly doze off and finally fall asleep on someone's, more often that not, Jack's lap. He gently picked her up into his arms and called for his warmest of winds to carry her while he got the door.

Jack wasn't at all surprised to see his friends eavesdropping on his conversation, but they were sure surprised to feel the door jerk away from there listening ears. Sandy, who actually knew the meaning of the word "privacy," silently laughed at his friends' expense. Then when Sandy saw Cupid floating on air, fast asleep, he worked a bit of his magic to ensure she had pleasant dreams that night. When the sand was sprinkled, little golden hearts danced over Cupid's head and accompanying them were golden snowflakes. She was dreaming of Jack for sure.

"What were you doing," questioned Jack. He was only humoring himself knowing full well what they were doing.

"We weren't eavesdropping, if that's what you're thinking," defended Tooth. "We were just making sure everything was going okay between the two of you, while giving you some privacy with the door."

"So, eavesdropping then?" He smiled at his friends and then asked, "Hey, North, is there a cot or a sleeping bag Cupid and I could borrow? She isn't the only one who wanted to fall asleep on the balcony."

"Cot or sleeping bag? Nonsense! You can have my bed. I sleep on cot in workshop. I do that anyway. Please, it's my pleasure."

So there they lay in the warm, white sheet, red comforter bed, Cupid soundly sleeping and Jack slowly drifting off. He then saw a small stream of golden sand flow in through the enormous, slightly open, window. The sand reached Jack, and within seconds he joined Cupid in sweet slumber.
Hey guys!!! Sorry this chapter is so short. I just wanted to upload a chapter for your enjoyment. I'm challenging myself to write a chapter a day and even though they are small chapters, the story is coming along nicely, no?

Anyway, here are the other chapters for those of you just tuning in.
